About the Author/Illustrator
Holly Elizabeth Owens is an artisan storyteller and illustrator who creates her books at Studio on the Pond, a small working studio located on Heart of the Wild Sanctuary in West Tennessee.
Surrounded by horses, wildlife, and quiet woods, Holly spends her days writing, illustrating, and caring for the animals who live on the sanctuary. Many of these animals, and the peaceful rhythms of life around the pond, help inspire the stories she creates.
From this place grew Whisperwood Fen, a whimsical story world filled with curious animals, wonderous creatures, mystic beings, gentle adventures, and a touch of woodland magic.
Though Whisperwood Fen is imagined, its spirit is rooted in the real landscape around the sanctuary, where frogs sing in the evening, birds gather in the reeds, and horses wander beneath old trees.
Holly’s books invite young readers to step into that world and discover stories of kindness, imagination, friendship, and wonder.
