Artisan's Note
Fen Marks were born from my lifelong connection to animals, land, and heritage. With Swedish, German, and Irish roots, I have always been drawn to the quiet symbolism found in Northern European folk traditions and ancient carvings. Creating these marks is part of my work as an artisan at Studio on the Pond, where I translate the spirit of Whisperwood Fen into simple, enduring forms.
Each Fen Mark is rendered by hand in gold foil or metallic leaf at Studio on the Pond. I am drawn to the way gold catches the light and gives these simple symbols a quiet presence, echoing the luminous quality of ancient ceremonial markings. The process is slow and intentional, and no two renderings are exactly alike. Each piece carries small variations that reflect the handmade nature of the work and the natural world that inspires it.
Holly's Fen Marks are created as ACEO cards and small artisan prints, designed to be collected, held, and lived with. Original pieces and available works can be found in her Enchanted Quills Etsy shop and through select eBay listings from Heart of the Wild.
